Prem Kumar – let us call him Premji – is the person behind this concept. But he says it evolved naturally as the need of the blessed 2 ½ acres of land on the banks of Chalakudi River and its inhabitants.
Inhabitants of the land then were earthworms, frogs; they were numerous waiting for the evening to climb to the land from the River to have their concerts. There were a variety of birds fearlessly coming and take night shelter on the trees that were in the land.
While going through the articles on Mr. Prem Kumar one thing impressed me a lot. He says while he was working with DC Books at Cochin he was fortunate to be in contact with several like-minded people and then the great person late DC Kizhakemuri who founded this prominent book publishing house must have also inspired him to serve the society whole-heartedly and honestly.
